Annapolis, MD (June 27, 2024) – Schwartz, Metz, Wise, and Kauffman, P.A. (SMWK), a leading law and lobbying firm in Annapolis, MD has named Andrew G. “Drew” Vetter, Esq. as a Partner and Danna L. Kauffman, Esq. as Managing Partner.
Drew joined SMWK in September 2022 and advises numerous firm clients across a diverse range of subject matters, including health care, the environment, technology, energy and utilities, pharmaceuticals, public safety, and others. Drew represents firm clients before the Maryland General Assembly, the State Executive Branch and administrative agencies, and local governments.
Prior to joining SMWK, Drew spent most of his career in public service roles in State and local government in Maryland. Immediately prior to joining the firm, Drew served as Deputy Administrative Officer for Baltimore County under Baltimore County Executive John A. Olszewski, Jr. Drew worked for Baltimore City government from 2015 through 2018, serving as Director of the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice, as well as Chief of Staff and Director of Government Affairs for the Baltimore Police Department. Drew was a Deputy Legislative Officer in the Administration of former-Governor Martin O’Malley.
Drew is licensed to practice law in the State of Maryland and earned his J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2011. He graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Maryland College Park in 2024 with a B.A. in Government and Politics. Drew is a lifelong Baltimore City resident and currently resides there with his wife and two children.
Danna has been with the firm since 2013 and became a partner in 2017. She has been named Managing Partner of SMWK.
